How long does ceramic coating last?

At KlenCars we offer a 5-year and a 10-year ceramic coating. Actual longevity depends on how the vehicle is washed and maintained — coatings are not maintenance-free. A coated car still needs washing, but it washes easier and sheds water and grime. Following the recommended wash routine and avoiding harsh chemicals helps the coating reach its full term.

Do I need to provide water or power?

No. KlenCars is fully self-sufficient — our mobile unit carries its own water tank and power. We can work in your driveway, garage, or office parking space without any hookup from you. All you provide is the vehicle and access to it.

Question 3

How long does a detail take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the service and the condition of the vehicle. An interior refresh may take a couple of hours; a full detail or ceramic coating can take most of a day. We confirm the expected time before your appointment so you can plan around it.

Do I need to be there the whole time?

Accepted Answer

No. Once we're set up and have access to the vehicle, you can go about your day. We only need to reach you to confirm the scope at the start and hand the keys back at the end.

What if the weather is bad?

We monitor the forecast and will reach out to reschedule if heavy rain or storms would affect the quality of the work. Light cover or a garage helps, but isn't required for most services.

Will ceramic coating prevent scratches and rock chips?

Accepted Answer

No. Ceramic coating is not scratch-proof or rock-chip-proof. It's a protective layer that makes washing easier, adds gloss, and helps the paint resist everyday grime and environmental contamination. For impact protection against rock chips, paint protection film (PPF) is the right product — ceramic coating and PPF serve different purposes.

What's the difference between a detail and a car wash?

Accepted Answer

A car wash removes loose dirt. A detail addresses what's bonded to the surfaces — decontamination, paint correction, interior extraction, leather conditioning — and adds protection. Detailing is tailored to your vehicle's condition; a wash is one standard process.

Can you remove every stain, scratch, and odor?

Accepted Answer

Not always, and we'll be honest about that. Stain and odor removal depends on the material, age, severity, and previous treatment. Scratch and swirl removal depends on clear-coat depth and defect depth. We inspect first and tell you what's realistically possible before we start.

Which service should I choose?

Accepted Answer

If you want both inside and out, start with a Full Detail. If your paint looks dull or feels rough, an Exterior detail or Ceramic Coating may be right. If the inside is the problem, an Interior detail with extraction and steam cleaning makes the biggest difference.
